Syruab Halabi Pigeon with Origin Description Size Ornaments Color Comment Pictures and Video

Origin: The Middle East, presumably Syria. It was imported to the United States in 1954 from Damascus, Syria by Sam M. Shadeed of Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Description: A flying breed which does not tumble. It is neat bird and of the standard flying type.

Size: Medium, about 14.5 ounces. Its body and type are regular.

Ornaments: It is clean legged and either plain headed or shell crested.

Colors: Black, blue, red and yellow. Its distinguishing feature is its white tail which is unusual because only the main tail feathers are white. The tail coverts and body feathers are colored. This pattern creates a line of clear demarcation when the wings are spread. The depth of all its colors is very good.

Comment: Though its type of tail feathering is unusual, this breed has not as yet attained popularity in the United States.

Seven steps must follows for Pigeon growing:
The requirements for pigeon breeding are simple, but they must be followed to be successful. There should be no relaxing or neglect at any time, for it is much easier to prevent trouble than to eliminate disease, parasites or vermin once these have occurred.

1. A dry house with the inside protected from rain or snow.
2. Separate houses for mated pairs and odd birds.
3. A flypen, if the breed requires one that dries out easily.
4.  A suitable feed ration protected from contamination.
5. A suitable mineral ration protected from contamination.
6. Water suitable for human consumption protected from contamination.
7. Suitable nesting materials.
If any one of the seven is neglected, trouble of some sort will eventually occur.
